I recently purchased a 3.5 # LWD connector. When I replaced the factory connector, the trigger pulled harder and less smootth. When I then replaced the original everything was back to normal. I have done this exercise several times to insure that I have installed it correctly. Each time I get the same results. Is it possible that I got a faulty connector? What are my options here?
I would bet your have a few hundred (thousand maybe) rounds through your pistol. If this is true, your trigger bar and connector are lapped in. They are as smooth as possible because they have worn together. When you add a new part it will not feel good at all. The fix is easy, lap in the new connector with jewelers paste or carbide lapping compound. JR
Thank you for your quick response. I was not expecting to have to do any additional work on the connector, but upon closer examination I did notice some roughness on the area where it contacted the trigger bar. I buffed that out with my dremel tool and now everything is smooth and lighter than the factor connector as expected.
